Cherry Party Ideas

I was recently asked for some ideas for a cherry themed party. This particular event happens to be a girlfriend gathering, but these cherry party ideas would work great for any occasion- a summer gathering, bridal shower, you name it. I decided to pair aqua and red for this party theme. I think the aqua adds a vintage twist that is just darling.

Red & aqua table scape, vintage inspired cherry invitations, cherry tea towels to use as decor or as a hostess gift, cherry mojito, red dot luncheon napkin and pale blue 10″ plate via Plates and Napkins.

Let cherries inspire your menu. Look for salad recipes that incorporate cherries (like this cherry-arugula salad) or other ways to use cherries in your more typical recipes. For the sweet stuff try chocolate cherry mousse shots, mini cherry pies, cherry vanilla cupcakes, or chocolate cherry cakes. You can also pick up some coordinate fabric (like this aqua dot) and make simple runners for your dessert table, drink area, or even main tables.

For refreshments, try cherry lemonade to keep guest cool. For favors, why not send guests home with a bag of fresh cherries that they can enjoy later? These cherry tags would be darling to tie the bags closed with. And I am loving these cherry thank you cards. Complete your cherry theme by writing each guest a nice thank you note after the party.

An Enchanted Party | Woodland Fairy Theme

Looking for a magical, fun, and whimsical party idea? This woodland fairy party is all that plus more! Designed by Kate Landers, this fairy party is perfect for her next birthday. If you are looking for a unique party idea that will truly stand out- consider this woodland fairy theme.

The use of toadstool and moss instantly transforms the party space into a woodland garden. The birthday girl’s own backyard served as the magical setting.

Here is a closer look at the invitations. These Woodland Fairy Invites set the tone of this whimsical celebrations perfectly! {invitations from Paper and Pigtails on Etsy}

Handcrafted toadstools were used as centerpieces. Each fairy guest was given her own skirt and set of wings as she arrived at the party.

Fairy food consisted of clever treats such as “fairy berries,” “gnome made granola,” and “snail swirl sandwiches.” The snack were served in chocolate “nests.” I simply LOVE these details!

Make your won toadstool cupcakes were said to be a huge hit and each fairy took home some fairy dust to use later.

This magical party is one of the most original parties I have seen in some time. Thank you Kate for sharing your gorgeous work and brilliant creativity with us! I cannot wait to see what you do next. For more party photos from this woodland fairy theme, head on over to Kate’s blog.

Type-it-out, A Vintage Guest Book Idea

Perhaps it is my love of vintage, or even love of the written word– but something about old typewriters, well makes me smile. I am loving the idea of using typewriters as an alternative to your traditional guest book. Why not set out an old vintage typewriter, a reel of paper and let your guests type you a little note? At the end of the night, roll up the paper like a scroll and secure with a ribbon!

What do you think?

{Real} Wedding: Vintage White

This {Real} Wedding feature was sent to me by Sasha from Choco Studio- award winning wedding photographers. This wedding (of Jenny and Jeff) is fun and romantic all wrapped into one. Sasha explains:

From Jenny’s vintage inspired dress, to the beautiful grounds of the Ralston White Retreat, we tried to get everything we saw to fit inside of our cameras. There’s a beautiful pond as well as trails going through the woods all around this venue. As it turns out, the Ralston White Retreat is a sixteen-bedroom mansion that was originally acquired as a wedding present by the owner to his wife. It was definitely a special treat to photograph in and around this venue.

Take a look at a few of the gorgeous images they captured of this sweet couple, Jenny & Jeff.

I adore Jenny’s vintage white style.

Is it just me or do these photos say romantic (on the right) and fun (on the left?).

This vintage wedding style feels effortlessly… glam. Am I right?

You’ll have to head on over to Choco Studio’s blog for all the other great photos from this {Real} Wedding feature. You’ll be glad you did as the reception photos are very fun! Thanks Sasha for sharing!
