Fall, schmall. It might be mid September but here in So Cal it’s 97 degrees. And honestly, even if it was cooler, I believe ice cream is a year-round treat. Are you with me?
I’m always looking for simple ways to add a fun touch to things and that’s how I came up with these easy ice cream cone wrappers. In under 5 minutes you can transform an ordinary ice cream cone into a unique one! All you need to do is print them, cut them out, and wrap them around the cone. Simple :) They would also be fun if you’re hosting an ice cream party! (more…)
Looking for a fun family game? This DIY cactus ring toss was a huge hit with my family! We like to play games together often (and we’re also a pretty competitive group so it gets interesting), indoors or out. Since summer is winding down, we’ve been trying to play more outdoor games and that’s what inspired this DIY cactus ring toss game.
The cactus trend is still going strong and I thought making a cactus ring toss game just screamed summer–so viola! It was really easy to make. We were playing within 30 minutes of putting it together (it’s triple digits with a dry heat so the spray paint basically instantly dried). We put ours in a pot so you can technically play this indoors or out (or even take it to the park for a picnic). (more…)
Sugar scrubs are all the rage, and for good reason. They smell divine and work wonders on your skin. But what about your lips? This DIY lip scrub recipe came to mind because my smackers needed a little extra attention as well.
This lip scrub is great if you have dry lips. Made with natural oils that smell great and is simple to make (I promise!). I made a few to have on hand and gave a few away as gifts (thanks to these perfect little lip balm jars I found). I made these using lavender essential oils but you can swap out your favorite scent. I think orange would be great to use in the morning. Sounds fresh! To use the lip scrub, apply a small amount to your lips and then rub around a bit. Rinse off the scrub with warm water and a wash cloth and then apply your favorite lip balm once your done. I like to use mine at night and it helps get lipstick off as well which is a bonus! (more…)
Looking for a cute way to serve up snacks during the Super Bowl? It can’t get easier (or cheaper) than using old-school paper lunch bags! All you need to do is grab a paint brush and some white paint and in 60 seconds you can transform the ordinary bags into cute football treat bags!
Fill them with popcorn, chips, peanuts, trail mix, or pretzels. Your snack just got an upgrade! (more…)
Add a little football flair to your Super Bowl with this simple DIY. These football mason jars are easy enough the kiddos can make them (which sounds like a touch down to me!). All you need are mason jars and white tape.
The trick is to fill your mason jars with a dark brown beverage. This could be any dark soda or root beer. Also, iced tea works well. Or, if you want to make these for the grown ups, try a dark beer. (more…)
