How to Make Hot Chocolate Spoons

What’s better than a warm cup of milk before bed? Okay who REALLY has warm milk before bed? I wonder these things.

But a warm cup of milk with decadent chocolate spoons to stirs things up? Hot Chocolate Spoons….I’m so in.

These easy treats are a perfect way to enjoy an after-dinner treat. Simply stir in a warm cup of milk and enjoy! They make for a great treat when having company during the holiday season and can even be wrapped up for teachers as gifts. If you’d like to make them ahead of time for last minute guests or gifts, just store them in a Ziploc® Bag and keep in the freezer. Pull them out an hour before needed and enjoy.

DIY Christmas Accessories

easy christmas crafts

Looking for easy Christmas crafts or a last minute accessory to go with that awesome holiday T you’re rocking? This morning my oldest daughter had to wear an “ugly sweater” to school (which by the way was NOT ugly. It was totally cute — clearly she didn’t get the memo that you don’t find ugly sweaters at Kohl’s. How about a thrift store darling?).

Anyway, we whipped up this fun jingle bell bracelet in 30 seconds. Super simple!

Our supplies: Ribbon we had on hand and these jingle bells I had picked up at Target. That’s it! We simply tied the bells (they are in cluster of 3′s) onto the ribbon and then tied the ribbon on her wrist.

She topped off her ugly-ish sweater ensemble with this cute bow. She just super glued a traditional bow to an old hair clip. Love that she has her own DIY style.

I love this girl.

Have a great weekend friends — I’m sure it will be full of Christmas cheer!

Gift Idea :: Homemade Coffee Creamer

homemade coffee creamer :: peppermint

The holiday season brings many chilly mornings and even more opportunities to cozy up with a hot cup of coffee. One of my favorite additions to a freshly brewed coffee is a great creamer. What better way to enjoy the season than with a mug full of holiday flavor?

This homemade coffee creamer adds that beloved minty flavor to your favorite morning (or evening) coffee. Make two batches – one for you and one to share with a friend or neighbor. It’s really simple (and inexpensive) to make.

Pour ingredients into a mason jar or other container, tie a ribbon around it and you have a great holiday gift! Create a DIY gift basket by combining the creamer with coffee and box of biscotti.

New Uses for Wrapping Paper

Wrapping paper. It’s not just for gifts anymore. Check out these ideas + enter to win $200 to Minted below.

DIY Christmas decorationsMy approach to holiday decorating is pretty much like my approach to everything else — keep it simple but make a statement. I love those simple DIY ideas that just make something so much better. Case in point: turning plain white serving trays into festive holiday serving trays!

Simple DIY Christmas decorationsA great quality wrapping paper with a fun modern print is the only new holiday decor item I need this season. You can do so many things with it, the DIY Christmas decorations are almost endless. As for the paper itself, I am in love with Minted’s new line of wrapping paper. The designs are modern, festive and unique and the quality is amazing. Good bye shiny, thin gift wrap. My favorite designs are the handdrawn herringbone, berry kraft, and on the grid (which you can customize with your own photos, see below!).

FREE Holiday Printables with HP

This week is all about last minute holiday prep (are you in this same boat?). One way to add some quick style to your holiday season is by incorporating holiday printables. What I love about printables is that they are an easy (and often free) way to give some style to your table setting, food display or gift wrapping. Simply print and you’re ready to go — simple! Look at this darling table setting by The Party Dress.

The addition of a simple printable name tag puts the finishing touches on the tablescape. I suggest using printable name cards (like the ones shown here) to direct guests to their seats. Place them on the napkin, directly on the plate or even attach them to the  chair backs. Be creative!

Download these FREE holiday printables from The Party Dress here. There are several holiday printable you can incorporate. Like these straw flags (perfect for holiday cocktails!).

And these gift tags that are perfect for holiday favors and gifts.

For more FREE holiday printables, see these cute milk & cookies printables  I shared last week.

This holiday season, let loved ones know how much you care. Use your favorite photos to create something personalized and unique for everyone on your list. Make it memorable. Make it meaningful. Make it matter. Go to hp.com/holiday for inspiration and ideas.

Milk and Cookies Party + FREE Printables!

I love the idea of hosting children’s’ holiday parties. Little ones are so excited this time of year that I think it brings out the kid in us all. From treats to gifts, crafts, fun gatherings and traditions — what’s not to love about holiday time?

One darling children’s’ holiday party idea is to host a milk & cookies party. You can go all out and invite several children over or simply set a little milk & cookie station up for your own kiddos like I’ve done here.

Milk and Cookies Party

I started with these darling Milk & Cookies printables designed by Jenn of HWTM. Printables are a simple way to incorporate a theme into your party or desert table and these paper printables can really tie it all together.

I filleed glass bottles with milk and added festive wasi tape to add a little flair.

Simple stacks of cookies tied with baker’s twine and embellished with a printable tag make for cute presentation (and also simple take-home favors!).

Snowmen cookies

Homemade or store bought cookies are easy to display on cake stands or solid colored plates. Just use what you already have in your kitchen.

To adorn these red velvet cookies, I hot glued a couple of jingle bells to a lollipop stick. Super simple and a fun way to add a little jingle to the party!

Be sure to check out the complete Milk & Cookies printable collection over on Hostess With The Mostess (you can even download for FREE!).
