There are many outlets you can go to for inspiration when you are throwing a party; however, planning one can get overwhelming – and expensive. The good news is, with a little creativity, you can easily add some flair to your next get-together while avoiding spending a fortune at party and craft stores. For example, you can add color to party supplies and décor by using simple and inexpensive solutions, like nail polish! Here are a few DIY ideas on how you can add creative of color to your next event.
Who knew nail polish could be used for party decor?
Dress-up your cutlery
Adding a few stripes of color to the handles of your cutlery will add unexpected style and fun. You can purchase stainless steel forks, knives and spoons at most dollar stores. The set I used (in the above image) came in a four-pack for $1.00, so I didn’t hesitate adding nail polish to dress them up. Be sure to hand wash them once your party is over.
What’s better than a warm cup of milk before bed? Okay who REALLY has warm milk before bed? I wonder these things.
But a warm cup of milk with decadent chocolate spoons to stirs things up? Hot Chocolate Spoons….I’m so in.
These easy treats are a perfect way to enjoy an after-dinner treat. Simply stir in a warm cup of milk and enjoy! They make for a great treat when having company during the holiday season and can even be wrapped up for teachers as gifts. If you’d like to make them ahead of time for last minute guests or gifts, just store them in a Ziploc® Bag and keep in the freezer. Pull them out an hour before needed and enjoy.
Looking for easy Christmas crafts or a last minute accessory to go with that awesome holiday T you’re rocking? This morning my oldest daughter had to wear an “ugly sweater” to school (which by the way was NOT ugly. It was totally cute — clearly she didn’t get the memo that you don’t find ugly sweaters at Kohl’s. How about a thrift store darling?).
Anyway, we whipped up this fun jingle bell bracelet in 30 seconds. Super simple!
Our supplies: Ribbon we had on hand and these jingle bells I had picked up at Target. That’s it! We simply tied the bells (they are in cluster of 3′s) onto the ribbon and then tied the ribbon on her wrist.
She topped off her ugly-ish sweater ensemble with this cute bow. She just super glued a traditional bow to an old hair clip. Love that she has her own DIY style.
I love this girl.
Have a great weekend friends — I’m sure it will be full of Christmas cheer!
The holiday season brings many chilly mornings and even more opportunities to cozy up with a hot cup of coffee. One of my favorite additions to a freshly brewed coffee is a great creamer. What better way to enjoy the season than with a mug full of holiday flavor?
This homemade coffee creamer adds that beloved minty flavor to your favorite morning (or evening) coffee. Make two batches – one for you and one to share with a friend or neighbor. It’s really simple (and inexpensive) to make.
Pour ingredients into a mason jar or other container, tie a ribbon around it and you have a great holiday gift! Create a DIY gift basket by combining the creamer with coffee and box of biscotti.
Need a hostess gift or something special for that home-bartender on your list? Here are a few of my recent favorite gift ideas that will have them stirring, shaking and sipping with a smile. Cheers friends!
