An UP! Inspired Wedding

If you are looking for a playful yet wildly romantic wedding theme, this one is for you. I recently came across these photos while browsing one of my go-to wedding sites, The Wedding Chicks. This wedding was inspired by the movie UP! and boy, I got carried away just looking at these photos!

Photographed by Wildflowers Photography, this Up movie themed wedding all began with an Up Inspired Engagement photo session. Be sure to check out the two-part shoot here and here. And also read what Pixar sent this lovely couple as a wedding gift once the these stunning images got their attention!

Take a peek at just a few of the images from Jame’s & Lynette’s Up inspired wedding:

James & Lynette both on and off of the cake.

The groom James, surprised his lovely bride with a balloon-filled room. Each balloon lifted up a photo of the two of them over the years.

More of their playful spirit- love it!

Here is the wedding gift that Pixar sent — a book with a drawing and a special note wishing them a happy adventure together, cool right?!

Vintage Wedding Inspiration

This vintage themed wedding offers delightful photos that will certainly have you feelin’ the love of this couple. If you are looking for some great vintage wedding inspiration- here it is!

Love the use of lace here- just a touch here and there really create a vintage feel.

Teal and a pale yellow feel chic yet warming– a great color palette for a vintage theme.

Remember my love for using typewriters as guest books? Nice touch here as well.

Here is the gorgeous wedding party. The couple Catie + Ben look amazing!

These vintage-feeling cane stands make for the perfect dessert table!

Too see more of this amazing vintage themed wedding, visit Dana Grant Photography. She has many more stunning photos of Catie and Ben’s vintage styled wedding. It was hard for me to choose which to feature.. thus I insist that you visit Dana’s Part 1, Part 2. and Part 3 of this wedding.

Type-it-out, A Vintage Guest Book Idea

Perhaps it is my love of vintage, or even love of the written word– but something about old typewriters, well makes me smile. I am loving the idea of using typewriters as an alternative to your traditional guest book. Why not set out an old vintage typewriter, a reel of paper and let your guests type you a little note? At the end of the night, roll up the paper like a scroll and secure with a ribbon!

{Real} Wedding: Vintage White

This {Real} Wedding feature was sent to me by Sasha from Choco Studio- award winning wedding photographers. This wedding (of Jenny and Jeff) is fun and romantic all wrapped into one. Sasha explains:

From Jenny’s vintage inspired dress, to the beautiful grounds of the Ralston White Retreat, we tried to get everything we saw to fit inside of our cameras. There’s a beautiful pond as well as trails going through the woods all around this venue. As it turns out, the Ralston White Retreat is a sixteen-bedroom mansion that was originally acquired as a wedding present by the owner to his wife. It was definitely a special treat to photograph in and around this venue.

Take a look at a few of the gorgeous images they captured of this sweet couple, Jenny & Jeff.

I adore Jenny’s vintage white style.

Is it just me or do these photos say romantic (on the right) and fun (on the left?).

This vintage wedding style feels effortlessly… glam. Am I right?

You’ll have to head on over to Choco Studio’s blog for all the other great photos from this {Real} Wedding feature. You’ll be glad you did as the reception photos are very fun! Thanks Sasha for sharing!

Day of the Dead Wedding

This unique themed wedding came to be via Eva with Catalyst Ranch, a one of a kind wedding venue in Chicago, IL. Catalyst Ranch tends to cater to couples who are fairly eclectic and really do some unusual things and this couple –Martha and Julio, don’t disappoint. Here are some great shots of their Day of the Dead themed wedding.

This photo of the bride and groom swinging makes my heart flutter.

Did you notice the Bride’s red shoes? LOVE them!

The bride handmade these Day of the Dead cookies herself!

Okay, I could go on and on posting photos of this unique wedding- but I’ll stop here. Visit Jeremy Lawson Photography to see the rest of these gorgeous images from Martha and Julio’s wedding. Thanks to Eva and Catalyst Ranch for sharing this one-of-a-kind event with us!

Love is Elementary

I spied this wedding over on The Bride’s Guide and can’t stop gushing over it. Perhaps it is the innocence of this school themed wedding, or the simple romantic idea of marrying your best friend from 4th grade- regardless, I have to share it with you! Here is the one of a kind nostalgia wedding of Minhee and Truman.

A teacher’s desk held the guests’ place cards.

Which were apples adorned with a numbered stickers. Each apple sat atop a hand printed piece of graph paper which included the guests’ names.

Chalkboard table runner? What screams elementary school more than that? This couple created theirs using black rolled paper and chalk- simple!

I love this fussy-free hand tied bouquet.

Guests posed for polaroid pics in front of a large chalkboard then inserted them into this guest book. Writing messages to the happy couple, this idea has that “yearbook” feel that is just so fun!

For more of this elementary school themed wedding (including their school themed favors, vintage cafeteria styled serving trays and to see how they incorporated that dreaded pop quiz, check out all the wedding pics on Martha Stewart Weddings: Minhee and Truman.
