A Woodland Wedding

When Aleah {from The Good Life Event Specialists} sent me over this Woodland Wedding Theme, I knew I had to share it with you all. From the breathtaking trees to the sweet sentiments, this wedding in the woods was all about style and woodsy romance. I’ll let Aleah take it from here and share her experiences working with this adorable couple, Emily and Ryen:

We worked with Emily and Ryen to pull details from the surrounding forest Emily and her brothers grew up playing in. Being all about nature, the save the dates, place cards, invitations, and programs were brushed with a tree logo to symbolize Emily and Ryen’s story; they met while climbing.

Chock full of amazing details created by Emily’s father were details such as wooden directional signs pointing to “drinks, chapel,” and other fun locales on the property, a custom altar, and an absolutely amazing rustic wooden bar {see last photo}!

Fiddle ferns, moss, and hostas were harvested and incorporated into lush centerpieces.

Keeping with the wedding in the woods theme, we incorporated magical lighting an transformed Emily’s dad’s bar into a cigar and scotch lounge after dinner; check out the elk lamp! To top the night off, we had a rockin’ band play into the night. Having played with some of the biggest names in rock, the Chris Friel Orchestra kept everyone dancing and singing at Emily and Ryen’s own private concert. Congratulations, Emily + Ryen!

Hay! Have a Seat

I am really loving the concept of creative wedding ceremony seating. Below show hay bales being used in place of your typical folding chairs seen at most wedding ceremonies. What a simple way to add a bit of whimsy and playfulness to your special day. A little country chic anyone?

Here, you can incporporate your wedding colors by using solid throws and fabric throughout the space.

Or, simply gather mismatch quilts which creates a very homey feel. You could even borrow family heirloom quilts (say if your granny has some) which would add a touch of meaning to the seating.

All white covereings are an option too- although this look is a little bland for my personal taste.

What are your thoughts? Could you see hay bales at your ceremony?

Chocolate Brown Bridal Shower

Do you remember that chocolate brown bridal shower I posted last year? Well, I just came across more pictures from that fabulous fall bridal shower and could not resit posting a few more pictures. If you are planning a fall shower or any event with the chocolate brown color scheme, I hope you find a bit of inspiration in these images. This was such a memorable event to both coordinate and attend (as was their fall wedding)- I just had to relive it one year later!

The wine barrel was found at the garden section of the local home improvement store.

I made these table runners from fabric I spotted and just loved.

I also made these wine glass charms. Really simple to do, found supplies at the nearby craft store. I placed them on the napkin so guests could choose to either place them on their martini glass or water goblet.

You can see the “Bridal Sweet Martini” recipe in the original post.

Our fabulous caterer set up the food table, lovely!

The dessert table, yum!

We built this trellis stand which was backed with a romantic fabric padding. Guests slipped in personal notes to the bride, tucking the cards in the trellis itself.

The favors were set up pool side (which also had floating candles in it). The soft glow from the water looked great when the sun went down on this evening shower.

Guests were given individually potted fall flowers. The little white tins were inexpensive and I made little tags that read “Falling in Love” and “Let Love Grow.”
