Pledge to Buy Mom-Made!

Yes, the economy is rough, really rough. Yes, we are all trying to save our family some money by cutting expenses…. and yes the holidays are right around the corner. Well, let’s face it they are here. The truth is life still goes on- even during this economic scare. The holidays are still here, people still have birthdays– we must still purchase things.

This holiday season I have found a way we an all help each other out. Rather than shopping at big box stores and through catalogs, let’s help each other. Truth is, many of us are mom-owned businesses who are also struggling to sell our goods in this tough time.

Moms who must shop…… meet Moms who must sell.

I mean, if we are going to be spending our families hard earned money, it might as well go directly to one who needs it right?

Please, grab this button and post it wherever you fancy. Let’s spread the word and help each other out. Mom’s are good at this, we can make this holiday season Simple and Fabulous!

You can comment here, share your favorite Mom- owned shop (even if it’s you own!). Don’t forget to check back often to see new listings. If you have a promo code, you can share that too.

Hi! Thanks for the opportunity to share the business my friend and I have created. It is called “Sweet Tooth Scrapbooking”. We are an online paper crafting business, selling scrapbook page kits, card kits and mini album/project kits. We are perfect for those who want to create a memory or a little homemade something, but are just pressed for time. We are also good for those seasoned crafters who just want soemthing done quick or who are having a creative block. All our kits come ready to assemble, with full color pictures and directions. All you really need is a good adhesive!!!
Perfect holiday gifts for those busy ones on your list or for those who want to get started creating memories.
Anyone who orders from us can save 15% buy mentioning “thoughtfully simple in the comments section.

    Thank you,

    Cindy

Do you LOVE chocolate? Attending holiday gatherings and need host/ess gifts? Or need to pick up some presents for your kid’s teachers, bus drivers, the postal carrier, hair dressers, your coworkers, you name it? Even better, my chocolates use Fair Trade Organic chocolate and your gift will keep giving to help children without families in Guatemala, Ethiopia and China. I donate a portion of the proceeds of each sale to orphanages in those countries. I produce all my confections by hand the old fashioned way, and I hand paint each chocolate with all natural cocoa butter. You won’t find any artificial colors or ingredients in our selections. Please consider Red Thread Confections for your gifts this year. My company is 100% mom owned and operated. Thanks so much to Tori for starting this thread! Thanks!!

Love this idea! I have co-authored a book for moms who use sitters, nannies, grandmas, significant others, whomever! to sometimes or a lot of the time care for their children. The parent fills it out all about their kids. Then the person in charge knows everything they need to know about the kids. No more rewriting notes. No more retraining sitters. It’s all there in the book. For anyone who purchases this book and mentions Thoughtfully Simple, we will send them a coupon code for a free refill.

    Check us out at http://www.bythebookkids.com

FANTASTIC idea! Would love to throw my mom-invented, owned and operated business into the mix. http://www.toibocks.com Our products were created so mom could have some privacy and convenience. Whether it’s your birth control, special photos, not-for-kid DVDs, good jewelry or anything you want to keep private and conveniently accessible the Original ToiBocks is the very first convenient, discreet storage that has a hidden lock mechanism. No tiny keys to lose, no digging under the bed or trekking to the closet for your things – they’re right there, out in the open, and kid-proof! Anyone who sees the ToiBocks will be able to tell there’s room to store something, but they won’t be able to figure out how to get in… no lock to pick, no padlock to hunt for a key. Our ToiTissue is so discreet it doesn’t even need a lock – who would think to hide something in a tissue holder? We would! We are coming out with new products in 09 and love to ask everyone… where do you hide yours?

Will check out everybody else’s postings too because this is a great idea! Kudos!
