Show Your Colors with My Colortopia

When it comes to home decor and those projects around the house — I’m definitely inspired by color. It’s amazing how you can completely change the look of a piece of furniture or even a picture frame just by applying a fresh coat of vibrant paint! Awhile back I shared with you a cool interactive tool from My Colortopia that helps you select the perfect paint colors for your next project and today I’m happy to share their newest tool, Show Your Colors (you’re going to love it!).

My Colortopia

If you’re like me, you find inspiration by checking out other people’s before and after photos (it’s complete motivation for me). Just scrolling through these submitted projects has me geared up to start our living room painting project. Show Your Colors allows you to submit your “before and afters” of your home painting projects. This site is a great place to visit for color inspiration and ideas for your next home project.

Go ahead and check out the interactive widget below. Browse before and after photos of recent home projects, I bet you’ll feel inspired. Be sure to submit your completed project, I want to check them out!

Hanging on to summer

summer crafts

If you are like me, then you are in a bit of denial that summer is nearing an end and before we know it fall will be here. My daughter heads back to school (hello 5th grade!) in less than two weeks, which is way to soon if you ask me. It’s still summer! So, in an effort to squeeze in a little more fun before the early bedtimes and packing of lunches resumes — I decided to put a little canister of summertime together for her today.

Think of it as a can of happy, ok … well if you’re 10.

Let’s see what’s inside, shall we?

Spilling over with happy (and fun), just like summertime.

I think she’ll smile when she open this.

yo-yo and jump rope — ahhh summertime fun.

I couldn’t resist picking up this cute watermelon note pad. Perfect for writing down those last minute summertime to-do’s. Thinking lying in a hammock and making smores would be on the top of mine!

What about you? What would you put in your “canister of happy” or write on your summertime to-do list?
